Experience
Following university, I commenced my graduate training in the operating theatres at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital working within a variety of surgical disciplines. On completion of this graduate training I found my niche in the areas of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Surgery.
I started working with A/Prof Weinrauch in 2008, initially as his scrub/scout nurse when he returned from his United Kingdom Fellowship. As my interest in the management of orthopaedic conditions grew, I decided to pursue further clinical education and I expanding my nursing role to enable me to assist in the conduct of surgical procedures as a Perioperative Nurse Surgical Assistant (PNSA). This lead to me transitioning to a full-time position at the Brisbane Hip Clinic.
My role at the Brisbane Hip Clinic is constantly evolving and growing. My goal is to optimise patient outcomes and deliver outstanding clinical care. This has led me to, once again, further my clinical studies to include ultrasonography and clinical research, as well as to undertake Masters Degrees in both Clinical Practice (PNSA) and Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
Outside of work I enjoy hiking and outdoor activities, and I’m an active member of the State Emergency Service (SES).
